What does Mushrooms New York collect about visitors?
Nothing beyond the standard server logs our web host keeps: the site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies' servers. If you email us, we use your message only to answer you and to correct the site.
From our sister shop, My Mushroom Dispensary. Adults 21+ only.
What does the site collect?
Nothing of its own. There are no cookies, no analytics or tracking scripts, no ads, no social media buttons, no embedded videos or maps, no fonts or scripts from other servers, and no forms that send anything to us.
The search boxes on the bill tracker and the trials list filter the list inside your browser; what you type isn't sent anywhere. The site's only script handles the menu, the contents list, those filters and opening a list entry you've linked to, and it sends nothing. The site also tells your browser to refuse anything from another server, so nothing from another company can load even by mistake.
What does the web host keep?
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like most web hosts, its servers record requests as they're made, typically the IP address, the time, the page requested, the browser type and the page you came from. Hostinger's privacy policy says it "may also collect information pertaining to visitors and users of our User's websites or services", "solely for and on our Users' behalf".1 Those logs are kept as hosting requires. We don't add analytics to them, combine them with anything else or sell them.
What happens when I follow a link to another site?
Your browser normally tells the other site that you came from mushroomsnewyork.com, the domain only, not the page. From then on, that site's own privacy policy applies. That includes My Mushroom Dispensary, the shop run by the team that publishes this site: it's a separate website with its own policy.
One link works a little differently. The Products button near the top of every page goes to My Mushroom Dispensary's order page, and its address carries four tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content) that name this site and the page you were on. If you tap it, the shop's own analytics can count which of our pages its visitors came from. The tags are only words in the link: this site sets no cookie and runs no script to record the tap, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you tap.
What happens to emails I send?
We use them only to answer you and, if you've reported an error, to correct the page. We have no mailing list, and we don't share your address or your message. We don't name the people who report errors or send tips unless they ask us to. If you send documents with a tip, we may report what they show, but not who sent them without your permission. More on what to send is on the contact page.
How do I ask you to delete an email?
Write to desk@mushroomsnewyork.com from the same address and say which messages you want deleted, or ask us to delete everything you've sent. We'll delete them and reply once to confirm. If your report led to a correction, the dated note stays on the page, as our corrections policy requires, but it never names you.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
